July Overlook & One Love (The Station)

Well July got a nice amount of snow and there seems to have been plenty of deep dry snow all over the resorts with Perisher looking very nice today having had a large dump of snow followed by little top ups till today and Thredbo is looking similar.

Heres how Perisher and Thredbo are looking





The graph is sitting just below 120cm which seems to have fallen possibly due to some rain or warm temperature but as we look ahead for August i think there is defiantly some large scale snowfalls on the way :). I am currently observing a system setting up for the week of the 12th of August which i will post more detailed on next week!

One love will be visiting the snow this year playing at the station on Saturday August 15th, Should be a good night and hopefully some good snow that week as well.

Mid Week Outlook & Torstein Horgmo Clip

Well looks like that little system has developed into something nice looking at hitting around Tuesday night and following through until Friday. The current depth is sitting at 111.8cm which is great! So this storm will hopefully get that over the 130cm mark!

Little Falls!

Great news!

The system we looked at a few days ago has come off better then expected!
There was barely much pre-frontal rain so it was cold enough to fall as snow and nice
dry snow is what fell overnight! The Cams are looking nice this morning at Thredbo & Perisher have indicated that the snow is nice and dry. It also looks like Perisher still have there snow making guns on

Looking ahead, the system will ease but things should stay cold enough so that the snow stays on the ground. Looking even further ahead, it seems we might not see much more snowfall until the end of the week. I will post a forecast later this week.

Upcoming Storm & Pics

After looking very daunting at first the latest GFS run seems to have slightly improved which now is looking like we will see more snow then rain out of this one.
There still will most likely be pre-frontal rain in the southern resorts which will not be too welcomed but the system seems as though it will improve through next week.

I'm hoping that little rain falls for Saturday & Sunday and that the resorts accumulate at least a 10-15cm top up out of this rather then loosing snow.

Decent Coverage

Well that system from last week was defiantly needed and has provided some sweet looking snow all over the resorts.

Heres a few grabs from various websites on & after the storm.









Plenty of dry snow feel which would have been dreamy to ski or board over after the storm.

Heres how the natural depth is looking in comparison to last year.





Looking further ahead there seems to be another decent storm on the way but unfortunately the freezing level seems to be a little too high to create decent snowfall. At the moment the forecast is suggesting rain & snow which but fingers crossed its not going to damage the cover from the last storm!

Its still a week out so ill keep an eye on it.

Quick update

Sorry theres been no posts this week, i had some terrible problems with my ISP.

Im talking bandwidth cappage (5 days of it) Ive almost gone mad but luckily ive managed to get on the internet.

I would love to post deeper on the series of events that have just unfolded down on the alps but i dont have much time on the net today.
